Dedicated Encryption Keys

Every TymeApps user gets their own dedicated encryption environment.

Using AWS Key Management Service, we create individual Customer Master Keys (CMK) that belong exclusively to you.

Think of it as having your own personal vault in a secure facility no one else has the combination.

Envelope Encryption Protection

Your data is secured using a sophisticated two-key system:

  • Your Personal CMK: Stored securely in AWS KMS, never leaving Amazon’s infrastructure
  • Data Encryption Keys: Generated by your CMK to encrypt your actual information
  • Local Encryption: Your data is encrypted on your device before transmission using AES-256-GCM
  • Secure Storage: Only the encrypted versions of your data and keys are stored in our systems

Smart Caching & Performance

Our system balances security with speed:

  • Decrypted keys are temporarily cached for performance, then automatically cleared
  • Each encryption operation uses unique initialization vectors for maximum security
  • Authentication tags ensure your data hasn’t been tampered with
  • Failed decryption attempts are logged and monitored
